Things Could Have Become Worse .. and Allah Knows

If we succeeded
we would become arrogant
and start looking down on others.

If life was easy
we would stop knocking on His door
something we never stopped doing before.

If we were wealthy,
we would stop donating to the poor
thinking it is rightfully ours.

If we were such good PRs
we would deem others who are not beneficial for us
as insignificant.

If we were praised
our hearts become inflated
our face starts to bloom
don't we realize
it's just because they don't know
who we really are?

If we were insulted
our breasts become constricted
our face starts to blush
do we forget
for whom we were doing the action for?

If we got the 'thing' we wanted
more and more time we spend on it
less and less time we spend with Allah
more and more attachment to the khalq
less and less attachment with the Haqq.

If we were loved by people
we would remember more of insaan
we would forget more of Ar-Rahmaan

If we had great leadership capabilities
would we really invite them to the light
and would we really invite them to The Light
or we would manipulate them to our own cause.

If we ceased to fall, and ceased to slip
we would have stoned hearts, and dry eyes
for repentance is a gift, for only those who realize.


For even in the things we don't have .. all praise is to Allah .. there's so much to be thankful for ..

Merits of the First Ten Days of Dhul-Hijjah

Q: Dear Sheikh, As-Salamu `alaykum. As the ten blessed days of Dhul-Hijjah are approaching, I know that these are virtuous days, in which good deeds are highly recommended by the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him). But my question is: could you please shed light on the virtue and merits of these blessed days? Jazakum Allah Khayran.

A: Wa `alaykum As-Salamu wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.

Brother, may Allah bless your efforts in pursuit of knowledge and enlighten your heart with Ikhlas (sincerity)! As you have stated, the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah represents an annual chance, in which a faithful servant of Allah is to bring himself nearer to Him, Most High. These are days of worship, Hajj, charity, peace, sacrifice, and good deeds.

Shedding more light on this issue, we'd like to cite the following Fatwa issued by Sheikh M. S. Al-Munajjid, a prominent Saudi Islamic lecturer and author:

"Praise be to Allah Who has created Time and has made some times better than others, some months and days and nights better than others, in a sense that rewards are multiplied many times than the case in other periods of time. This reflects Allah’s overflowing mercy towards His servants, and it encourages them to do more righteous deeds and makes them more eager to worship Him, so that the Muslim renews his efforts to gain a greater share of reward, prepare himself for death and supply himself in readiness for the Day of Judgment.
This season of worship brings many benefits, such as the opportunity to correct one’s faults and make up for any shortcomings or anything that one might have missed. Every one of these special occasions involves some kind of worship through which the servants may draw closer to Allah, and some kind of blessing though which Allah bestows His favor and mercy upon whomsoever He wills. Happiness and success are for the one who makes the most of these special months, days and hours and draws nearer to his Lord during these times through acts of worship and righteousness. The Muslim must understand the value of his life, increase his worship of Allah and persist in doing good deeds until the moment of death. Almighty Allah says: "And worship your Lord until there comes unto you the certainty." (Al-Hijr: 99) The Scholars say: ‘The certainty’ means death.

Among the special seasons of worship are the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, which Allah has preferred over all the other days of the year. Ibn `Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days." The people asked, "Not even Jihad for the sake of Allah?" He said, "Not even Jihad for the sake of Allah, except in the case of a man who went out to fight, giving himself and his wealth up for the cause, and came back with nothing." (Reported by al-Bukhari)

Ibn `Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) also reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no deed more precious in the sight of Allah, nor greater in reward, than a good deed done during the ten days of Sacrifice." He was asked, "Not even Jihad for the sake of Allah?" He said, "Not even Jihad for the sake of Allah, except in the case of a man who went out to fight giving himself and his wealth up for the cause, and came back with nothing." (Reported by ad-Darimi)

These texts and others indicate that these ten days are better than all the other days of the year, with no exceptions, not even the last ten days of Ramadan. But the last ten nights of Ramadan are better, because they include Laylat al-Qadr, which is better than a thousand months. Thus the various reports may be reconciled. (See Tafsir Ibn Kathir, 5/412)

You should know, dear brother in Islam, that the virtue of these ten days is based on many things:

1- Allah swears an oath by them, and swearing an oath by something is indicative of its importance and great benefit. Almighty Allah says: "By the dawn; by the ten nights." (Al-Fajr: 1-2) Ibn `Abbas, Ibn Az-Zubayr, Mujahid and others of the earlier and later generations are of the opinion that this refers to the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah. Ibn Kathir said: "This is the correct opinion." (Tafsir Ibn Kathir, 8/413)

2- The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) testified that these are the best days of this world, as we have already quoted above from authentic Hadiths.

3- The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) encouraged people to do righteous deeds because of the virtue of this season for people throughout the world, and also because of the virtue of the place - for the pilgrims to the Sacred House of Allah.

4- The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us to recite during this time a lot of Tasbih (glorification of Allah), as well as Tahmid (praising Allah) and Takbir (saying 'Allah is Greatest').

`Abdullah ibn `Umar (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There are no days greater in the sight of Allah and in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Him than these ten days, so during this time recite a great deal of Tahlil (saying: 'there is no god but Allah'), Takbir and Tahmid." (Reported by Ahmad)

5- These ten days include the Day of `Arafah, on which Allah perfected His Religion. Fasting on this day will expiate for the sins of two years. These days also include the Day of Sacrifice, the greatest day of the entire year and the greatest day of Hajj, which combines acts of worship in a way unlike any other day.

6- These ten days include the days of Hajj."

Of the trials in days gone by,
Of the Sahabah beloved by Allah,
Who for Allah's cause did strive?

Why loosen your hold upon Him?
Why fling away, His outstretched Hand?
Ya nafsy, do you not remember,
Bilal's sabr on the blazing sand?

"Ahad! Ahad!" He cried,
While his flesh did drip and burn.
"Ahad! Ahad!" He cried,
To Allah alone he turned.

Forget you the firmness of Hamza,
As the gleaming swords did fall?
With Sabr he turned to Allah,
As the Quraysh did slice and maul.

Why drown in salty teardrops?
How can you dare compare your pain?
To that of Yasir and Summayah,
As they lay tortured on the scorching plain?

Forget you the charring of Khabbab,
As on burning coals he lay?
Ya nafsy how meager your suffering,
Wherefore do you lose your way?

Why befriend you not Al-Wali?
Why not in Salat to Him complain?
Like Job who only to Allah,
Turned in all his grief and pain?

Forget you those trials in this life,
Cleanse your heart and make it clean?
Ya nafsy, why all this sadness?
Do you not wish your heart to gleam?

Be patient in all your hardships,
Allah hears your cries of woe.
So trust Him and His hikma (Wisdom),
For He knows best and you don't know.

So tighten your hold upon him,
Lest He withdraw His outstretched Hand!
And remember the example of Bilal,
As he lay anchored on the blazing sand.

"Ahad! Ahad!" he cried,
While his flesh did drip and burn.
"Ahad! Ahad!" he cried,
To Allah alone he turned.'

Doktor, Islam dan Logik : Sebuah Perbandingan Klasik Dan Moden


Doktor memulakan syarahannya dengan membawa para hadirin memikirkan sejenak dengan hadith yang maknanya sedikit sebanyak "Dalam diri-diri kamu ada kebesaran Tuhan". Doktor menyuruh kita melihat kedua tapak tangan dan perhatikan garis-garis di tapak tangan kita.
Garisan-garisan di tangan kiri menunjukkan angka 8 dan 1 dalam Bahasa Arab dan tangan kanan 1 dan 8 dan membawa ke jumlah 81 + 18 = 99 iaitu bilangan nama Allah.

Berikut adalah antara intipati syarahannya secara ringkas:-

1. Cara makan, kenapa kita gunakan tangan? Mengikut cara Rasulullah s.a.w, beliau akan menggaulkan lauk dan nasi dengan tangan kanannya dan kemudian membiarkan sebentar, lalu Rasullah saw akan mengambil sedikit garam menggunakan jari kecilnya(yg last tu), lalu Rasullah saw akan menghisap garam itu. Kemudian barulah Rasulullah makan nasi dan lauknya!.

Mengapa? Kerana kedua belah tangan kita ada mengeluarkan 3 macam enzim, tetapi konsentrasi di tangan kanan kurang sedikit dari yg kri. Ini adalah kerana enzim yg ada di tangan kanan itu merupakan enzim yang dapat menolong proses penghadaman (digestion), ia merupakan the first process of digestion.

Mengapa menghisap garam? Kerana garam adalah sumber mineral dari tanah yg diperlukan oleh badan kita. Dua cecah garam dari jari kita itu adalah sama dgn satu liter air mineral. Kita berasal dari tanah maka lumrahnya bahan yang asal dari bumi (tanah) inilah yg paling berkhasiat untuk kita.

Kenapa garam? Selain dari sebab ia adalah sumber mineral, garam juga adalah penawar yang paling mujarab bagi keracunan, mengikut Dr, di hospital-hospital, the first line of treatment for poisoning adalah dengan memberi Sodium Chloride, iaitu GARAM. Garam juga dapat menghalang sihir dan makhluk-makhluk halus yang ingin menggangu manusia.

2. Cara Rasulullah mengunyah - Rasulullah akan mengunyah sebanyak 40 kali untuk membiarkan makanan itu betul-betul lumat agar perut kita senang memproseskan makanan itu.

3. Membaca Basmalah (Bismillahirrahma Nirrahim). Membaca Basmalah sebelum makan untuk mengelakkan penyakit. Kerana bakteria dan racun ada membuat perjanjian dengan Allah swt, apabila Basmalah dibaca maka bakteria dan racun akan musnah dari sumber makanan itu.

Cara Rasulullah minum. Janganlah kita minum berdiri walaupun ia makruh tetapi ia makruh yang menghampiri kepada haram. Jangan kita minum dari bekas yg besar dan jangan bernafas sedang kita minum. Kerana apabila kita minum dari bekas yg besar, lumrahnya kita akan meneguk air dan dalam proses minum itu, kita tentu akan bernafas dan menghembuskan nafas dari hidung kita. Kerana apabila kita hembus, kita akan mengeluarkan CO2 iaitu carbon dioxide, yang apabila bercampur dgnairH20, akan menjadi H2CO3, i!aitu sama dengan cuka, menyebabkan minuman itu menjadi acidic. Jangan meniup air yg panas, sebabnya sama diatas.
Cara minum, seteguk bernafas, seteguk bernafas sehingga habis.

Mengapa Islam menyuruh di sebat 100 kali orang belum berkahwin yang berzina, dan merejam sehingga mati org yg sudah berkahwin yang berzina?
Badan manusia akan mengeluarkan sel-sel darah putih atau antibiotik yg dapat melawan penyakit. Dan sel-sel ini terdapat di daerah tulang belakang, berdekatan dengan sum-sum tulang manusia. Lelaki yang belum berkahwin dia akan dapat mengeluarkan beribu-ribu sel ini, manakala lelaki yang sudah berkahwin hanya dapat menghasilkan 10 unit sel ini sehari, kerana antara sebabnya ialah kerana sel-sel lain akan hilang kerana perhubungan suami isteri. Jadi apabila lelaki yang belum berkahwin didapati salah kerana zina hendaklah disebat 100 kali.

Ini adalah kerana apabila dia disebat di belakangnya, suatu amaran tentang kesakitan !itu akan membuatkan penghasilan beribu sel antibiotik yang dapat melawan virus HIV jika ia ada di badannya, dengan itu dapatlah antibodi melawan virus HIV itu. Tetapi jika lelaki itu sudah berkahwin, walaupun disebat 100 kali ia akan tetap menghasilkan 10 unit antibody sahaja, jadi dengan itu hukumannya direjam hingga mati agar dia tidak dapatmerebakkan virus HIV itu.

Itulah sedikit sebanyak inti syarahan yg disampaikan oleh Dr Jamnul Azhar. Harap ia akan memberi manfaat pada anda sekalian, dan sedikit informasi yang diberikan oleh Mudarisana, Mudaris Iskandar mengenai Ka'bah.

Mengapa ia terletak di Mekah al- Mukarramah dan mengapa ia empatpersegi (cube). Ia terletak di posisinya sekarang kerana setelah dibuat kajian oleh para cendikiawan dari Pakistan dan Arab,
didapati, tempat terletaknya Ka'bah sekarang itu, adalah betul-betul di tengah bumi. Mengapa ia empat persegi, ia melambangkan perpaduan ummah yang bergerak maju! bersama, equality and unity, tidak seperti bentuk pyramid, dimana ia diumpamakan, seperti hanya seorang pemenang yg berada diatas setelah ia memijak-mijak yang lain. Dan antara lagi sebab mengapa 4 persegi > melambangkan 4 imam besar, Maliki, Hambali, Hanafi dan Syafi'i, melambangkan kebenaran keempat-empat Imam tersebut.

tentang si Tuah yang setia dan si Jebat yang derhaka
siapa aku di depan Tuhan ku

Maghribnya
aku melihat warna malam
tetapi aku masih berligar di sebalik tabirnya
mencari sisa-sisa keseronokan
tidak terasa ruang masa yang singkat
jalan yang bertongkat-tongkat
ruginya bertingkat-tingkat
siapa aku di depan Tuhan ku.

Isyaknya
kerana masanya yang panjang
aku membiarkan penat menghimpit dadaku
aku membiarkan kelesuan mengangguku
aku rela terlena sambil menarik selimut biru
bercumbu-cumbu dengan waktuku
siapa aku di depan Tuhan ku
kini aku menjadi tertanya-tanya
sampai bila aku akan melambatkan sujudku
apabila azan berkumandang lagi
aku tidak akan membiarkan Masjid menjadi sepi
kerana di hujung hidup ada mati
bagaimana jenazah akan dibawa sembahyang di sini
jika ruangku dibiarkan kosong
jika wajahku menjadi asing
pada mentari dan juga bintang-bintang.

~ puisi ini dibacakan oleh Khalifah Umar bin Abdul Aziz selepas tanah memberitahu beliau tentang keadaan mayat setelah dikebumikan. Ketika itu beliau sudah selesai menguruskan jenazah beberapa orang yang mati dan selepas itu beliau cuba meninjau kubur keluarganya. Waktu itulah beliau mendapat peringatan daripada kubur. Seminggu selepas itu, Khalifah Umar meninggal dunia.

Dear sister in Islam, we are very pleased for the great confidence you repose in us and we really commend your apparent interest in having a better understanding of the teachings of Islam and the rulings of this great religion in all matters. In fact, Islam is a religion that encompasses all aspects of life and secures guidance and light for all mankind.

As for your question, a Muslim is best advised to engage in what is beneficial for him and to avoid what may waste his time or arouse his sexual desires.

Answering the question, Dr. `Abdul-Fattah `Ashoor, professor of Exegesis of the Qur'an, issues the following Fatwa:

"Reading books have many benefits. A Muslim should read that which is beneficial to him. It stands to reason that the Muslim should avoid reading romantic novels that only arouse sexual desires and ignite lust in him/her. This is due to the fact that reading such things will fill him/her with temptation and drive him/her away from remembering Almighty Allah.

Reading romantic novels may be dangerous in the same way as films are, as both may contain expressions about immoral people and immoral practices that are forbidden for a Muslim.

So, I advise my dear daughter to read the history of Prophets and to ponder over verses of the Glorious Qur’an as well as the biography of Prophets, something extensively dealt with in the Qur’an. I advise her also to read the history of Islamic battles, etc. Getting her mind engrossed with these noble readings, she will find herself in no need for reading such novels."

Doa untuk menenangkan hati menghadapi dugaan² dari Allah swt:-

Surah Ar-Rad (13) [Guruh]: ayat 28

Tafsir:
(Iaitu) orang² yang beriman dan hati mereka menjadi tenteram dengan mengingat Allah. Ingatlah, hanya dengan mengingati Allah-lah hati menjadi tenteram.


Surah Insyirah (94) [Melapangkan]

Tafsir:
(1) Bukankah Kami telah melapangkan untukmu dadamu?
(2) dan Kami telah menghilangkan daripadamu bebanmu,
(3) yang memberatkan punggungmu?
(4) Dan Kami tinggikan bagimu sebutan (nama)mu?
(5) Kerana sesungguhnya sesudah kesulitan itu ada kemudahan,
(6) sesungguhnya sesudah kesulitan itu ada kemudahan.
(7) Maka apabila kamu telah selesai (dari sesuatu urusan), kerjakanlah dengan sungguh² (urusan) yang lain,
(8) dan hanya kepada Tuhanmulah hendaknya kamu berharap.
